Use of qualified signatures in the Electronic Digital Identity Wallet

The Electronic Digital Identity Wallet shall allow to create qualified electronic signatures. And the usage of the wallet shall be free for natural persons. Does this means that all natural persons will have qualified signatures for free? And what does this means for trust service providers proposing electronic signature?

The wallet may be used for creation qualified esignatures via QTSP for qualified electronic signatures. But this does not mean that the signatures will be for free

This method, used in combination with a surrogate QESC*, also can’t create QESs.

  • surrogate QESC means any el. signature certificate non compliant with Article 28 (1) - (3).
